Split/Dubrovnik
Looking to go to either Split or Dubrovnik next July with about 10 of us.

Which one is better for a group of blokes? Nightlife etc?

I'd say Split now - still a semi-unkown gem.

Dubrovnik is proper tourist town since Game of Thrones

Split better for a lads weekend.

If possible, get to Pag for at least a night. Crawling with fit Croatian birds.

Cheers boys, appreciated

Is Split costly?

Re: Split/Dubrovnik
Split better for a big group of you. Dubrovnik has got far too busy/touristy over the last few years and expensive as a result.

Split will be cheaper and less packed.

Watch out for chilled red wine

Re: Split/Dubrovnik
Its a bit cheaper but Croatia is amongst the wealthiest of the old eastern european states, so dont expect it to be cheap as chips.

Re: Split/Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik would be rubbish for a lads holiday.

Split the better choice- however, you might want to consider one of the islands off the coast of Croatia over either of those places to be honest. You can get a ferry from Split to those pretty easily anyway.

Amazing oysters around Peliašac - some of the best I’ve ever had and I’m an oyster FIEND.

Did Split in September for a stag do. 20 of us. Great place. Great weather. Decent beer prices (although higher on sea front) Decent bar on the beach round the corner

Stay clear of "All English breakfasts" though. Mine was garlic bread, german sausage, kidney beans and unclooked bacon

I was in Dubrovnik (Old Town) a few weeks ago. It's lovely, but go with the missus - as has been said, it'd be rubbish with a group pf blokes and beer is NOT cheap.

big fan of Croatia, some lovely places there.

As others have said, definitely Split with lads, Dubrovnik with the other half.

Both worth a visit but Split offers better value for money.
